Official Notice of Parent Elections (2026–2027)
Issued in compliance with NYC DOE Chancellor’s Regulations and FACE Election Certification requirements
In accordance with NYC Department of Education Chancellor’s Regulations, our school will conduct virtual elections for the PTA Executive Board, School Leadership Team (SLT), and Title I Parent Advisory Council (PAC). All elections will be conducted online via Zoom and are open to eligible members of our school community.
Nominations
- Nominations were accepted from the floor at the April and May Parent Meetings.
- Parents/guardians may self‑nominate by submitting the required Willingness to Serve Form online no later than 11:59 PM on Sunday, May 17.
- Completion of a Willingness to Serve Form is mandatory for all candidates.
- A final call for nominations from the floor will take place immediately prior to the start of elections on the election date.

Voter Eligibility

PTA Elections:
All members of the Parent and School Community (as defined in the PTA bylaws and Chancellor’s Regulation A‑660) are eligible to vote. -
SLT & Title I PAC Elections:
Only parents or legal guardians of currently enrolled students are eligible to vote. -
The Parent Coordinator will verify voter eligibility prior to voting.

Zoom Election & Voting Procedures
To ensure a fair, secure, and inclusive election, the following procedures will be followed:
Meeting Access & Verification
- The Zoom link ( https://zoom.us/meeting/register/nQaZN-vZRa2JHxyazxgJSA ) will be shared in advance with the school community.
- All participants must enter using their full name.
- The Parent Coordinator will verify eligibility against the school’s enrollment records.
- Only verified eligible voters will be permitted to vote.
Meeting Conduct
- The meeting will be opened by the presiding officer.
- Election rules, positions, and voting order will be reviewed aloud.
- Chat and reactions will be disabled during voting to maintain order.
- Observers who are not eligible voters, may remain in the meeting but may not vote.
Voting Process
- Voting will take place using Zoom polls (or an approved DOE‑compliant voting method).
- Each eligible voter is permitted one vote per position, in accordance with DOE regulations and PTA bylaws.
- Poll results will be displayed and recorded in the meeting minutes.
- In the event of a tie, a runoff vote will be conducted immediately.
Documentation
- Election results will be documented on the PA/PTA Election Certification Form, including SLT and Title I results, and submitted per FACE requirements.
- The meeting may be recorded for documentation purposes.
